For their second game against the Seattle Seahawks in primetime, the San Francisco 49ers will start Brock Purdy at quarterback.
The team's Week 14 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers resulted in oblique and rib injuries for the rookie quarterback, who was limited all week and was labelled as questionable going into this "Thursday Night Football" contest.
Purdy, the 49ers' starting quarterback, is prepared to play again in just four days, contrary to what head coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier in the week, when he said that no final decisions would be made regarding his availability until gameday.
At Lumen Field, where Purdy will make his first start away from home, Shanahan and veteran players have referred to the venue numerous times this week as one of the NFL's more challenging venues.
Purdy declared, "This is perhaps the most hostile setting you could possibly play in." "I'm eager for it because it might happen here or at Arrowhead. These guys have all performed here quite a few times, so listen to what they have to say about the positive and negative aspects of communication and performance. So, when it happens, we'll be prepared."
The rookie quarterback had a strong Week 14 in which he completed 16 of his 21 throws for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and added a running score of his own against Tampa Bay.
Purdy became the first quarterback to face Tom Brady in his first career start and win after the triumph last Saturday.
